Project: redesign mobile app

Part I — Starting from choosing an app
Why I’d like to work on this project
I choose to work on this product as the service can benefit the global community, it provides options so people can make the right choice while exploring the world or the city we live in. We can help enhance the experience and inspire them by transporting them to places they never knew about. this is also a great source of education.
Part 2. Discovery phase
I started by looking and evaluating the existing application and its fuctionality so i could understand
the overal service, togher with a list of questions to help me identify areas for improvement.
WHY
Why improving it?
Why would the audience choose this option?
WHO
Who’s it for?
Who are the stakeholders?
WHAT
What tasks are required to accomplish a goal?
What is the drive / motivation?
HOW
How will it be used
WHERE
Where from platform (device) are we using to solve the tasks?
Where is this task performed? (location)
Part 3. The method
How can the Principles of Lean UX craft a better user experience for Detour. As the service is already defined as well as the product to improve its features can be easily done applying the Lean UX.
Following this method I will start by understanding what currently exist. I will run a heuristic evaluation and focus on what is not working, and see how it can be improved.
Once I have identified the strategy, opportunities and motivations, I will define the goals applying Lean UX, will allow me to quickly produce test my ideas by using low fidelity prototypes so they and be tested then refined, through a number of repetitions.
How I would apply the principles to both user flow process and design?
I will break those goals into smaller steps and allow for multiple iterations. I plan to create a road map so i can plan the sprints
and spend short amounts of time on short segments of the process, and share, learn, revise, change or/and move on to the next.
Involve Users Early On
In order to maintain momentum all will be involved early, also for everyone to feel part of the project and be on the same page.
Practice Collaborative Design
Weekly restrospective meeting will be done, so we can discuss with the team success and failures this way we can quickly adjust, change or move goals and work on designs wireframes if needed.
Develop User-Centric Features
During our restrospective will also invite some of the users to get their feedback as well as each iteration where needed.
Remove Waste
We will focus on the goals only any additional enhancement will be added to the backlog, then revised for the next sprint based on priority / dependency and benefit.
Part 4. Conducting the Research
A supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.
-
Users will use their phones to find city information
-
Users will be able to choose to review a place based on their circumstances, plan to go somewhere but don’t know where
-
Users would like to learn about places nearby Users could refer to review or ratings

Research Method - Interview

Synthesize
Everyone enjoys travelling, users look for information mainly through their phones and rather find out about a place during their visit.
Opportunity 1: Ito incentive the user the first tour is free so that the user can experience our services and get to see how our tours are fun and engaging.
Users would be interested to read reviews, however i don’t see much motivation to share their experiences, perhaps here is an opportunity 2 to get feedback in a very simple and informative way after the tour.
User would like to receive suggestion based on cost savings for nearby attractions
This service should also provide a video and text.
